Xenix is a being of pure, unfettered Belief. He also wants your pants.
Age
25, at least. Born 3/11/1984
Gender
Male
Species
Homo Sapiens Sapiens, we think.
Height
5'9" (175.3 cm)
Physical Description
Lean, edging towards skinny. He's put on a lot of muscle in recent years, and his skin is thoroughly roughened from a life spent largely on the road, but he's not going to win any weight-lifting competitions, nor will his skin turn any blades all on its own.
Coloration
Skin: Tanned, although he's a WhiteBoy(tm), so it's never going to get but so tanned. At least it will tan, though.
Hair: Dirty Blonde, almost the color of sand and ash blended together, or of partially damp sand. Cut rather short to keep it out of his eyes and usually combed with a part on the left.
Eyes: Blue-gray, a thin ring of tan right around the pupil.
Clothing/Armor
Black walking-sandals with top and heel straps. Loose, deep-pocketed khaki pants that fall to just cover his ankles, held up with a black belt. An untucked cinder gray T-shirt with the words, "That was Zen. This is Tao. Confucian?" written on the front in yellow letters. A long-sleeved plaid shirt is worn unbuttoned and untucked over the T-shirt. The plaid is primarily forest green and navy blue, with white and beige lines
Jewelry
Watch worn on his left wrist. Celtic knot ring with a rectangular face on his right ring finger.
Weapons / Magic Items
Does an iron frying pan count? It very well may be magical, given how easily it can swung around, but then, it also has a very deleterious effect on magic of any flavor, shape, or color.
Other Key Accessories
His pockets hold a variety of semi-useful items, including: a multi-tool, comb, and pencil. His journey pack holds even more, containing an assortment of tools and supplies necessary for living on one's own in the wilds of any world, such as an iron frying pan, other cooking utensils, camping equipment, etc. His pack probably contains exactly what he needs 80% of the time. The remaining 20%, it will contain something that can do the job, if not quite as effectively or efficiently as a custom-made object.
Occupation
Wanderer.
Combat Skills
He has a decent ability to defend himself, but probably his greatest strengths in combat are his quick reactions and his ability to make things up as he goes along. Very much a sort of combat savoir faire.
Powers
• Belief: Xenix is possessed of an immense self-assurance, which saturates and sustains his existence. This self-assurance is so potent as to be capable of physically altering Xenix's existence and comes in two main 'flavors': Conscious and Subconscious. The former is exactly what it sounds like: Xenix forces himself to believe a given thing so much that he literally rewrites reality to accommodate his belief. The latter is a little more complicated, as it revolves around things that he subconsciously believes. These beliefs tend to be painted in broader strokes and much more difficult for outside forces to overcome. They are also fully grounded in logic and it is more than possible to use them against Xenix.
• Metacapable: Xenix is able to access and do many things that characters normally cannot, especially if the current environment is particularly flexible (such as the Chat's). He can read profiles, look over things that happened before he actually arrived on the scene, and interact with players in their 'mun-bubbles'. In fact, he has a bit of a thing for never using a mun-bubble himself and simply narrating to his fellow players, while actually bothering to use words to converse with his fellow characters. He can, on occasion, also help a character's sense to breach their normal barriers, although this has proven to be poor for the average character's health in the past.
• One Self, Many Faces: Xenix is both Character and Player simultaneously, but he is not the only character attached to that particular player. To discuss Xenix's unique nature in this department, imagine a hollow polyhedron with a unidirectional light source in the center. This geometrical figure has a finite, but very large, number of sides, each of which is a slightly different color. The polyhedron may spin around the light source, which has a narrow enough focus that only one of the polyhedron's sides can be lit up at any given moment. Now, each side (or facet, as the terms are used interchangeably) represents an alternate 'Xenix'. With enough stress, or properly-applied force, the polyhedron might be moved, which would change Xenix from his normal state of being into an alternate version. Xenix has, with effort, learned how to apply that force himself. It's as simple as Believing himself to be somebody else.
Talents
He looks good in plaid.
Weaknesses
Xenix is, most of the time, an ordinary human who can be killed by ordinary things. That said, normal people don't go around believing that they will die today, so unless he is faced with incontrovertible proof that he is dead, he is unlikely to believe it. Cunning illusions can do the trick, but not always. His conscious Belief's primary weakness is that it is only as strong as his willpower. The more 'unbelievable' the action he is attempting, the more effort it will take to make himself Believe it.
Personality
Often described as shy or a loner, he really just never saw the need to go out of his way to meet people. He kept to himself and anybody that cared to could come to him. He found that the people he felt worth knowing were those who would understand his stance and seek him out themselves. Wether this opinion was right or not, he tended to have few friends, and those he did have usually shared one or more interest with him.
He's rather laid back and likes to just sit back at times and just watch life flow by, letting it pull him where it will. His out-of-the-way mentality usually allows him to look at the same scene through three or four different perspectives. That mentality makes him more than a little unsettled in the presence of strong emotions (his or other people's), so he tries to avoid such situations whenever possible. That behavior, along with a dreadfully short attention span has resulted in others typically thinking him insensitive, in the past.
He has a dislike for cities and heavily urbanized areas. He likes the benefits of modern technology and acknowledges that cities are often necessary, but he just can't bring himself to live or spend large amounts of time in one of them, always claiming that they 'feel artificial' to him.
Brief History
He was born, he lived, he'll one day die. Right now, he's not too worried about the particulars of any of those stages.
Friends and Allies
Erica Rire-Hyene - He's got a crush on her, and considers her one of his best friends, but not much more has come of it, despite his efforts.
